I've been re-watching the show and I can't get over what a mean, borderline abusive jerk David Silver. Once the high school years are over he is the worst boyfriend. I have repeatedly seen him get mad at Donna & Valerie for not being "supportive" of him when in reality the women just have other things on their plate and are not willing to drop everything for them. He yells at his girlfriend and blames them when they do nothing but happen to be the one around for David to blame. He is a world class jerk. I can't believe the show ended with Donna & David's marriage. Free Donna!

I recently watched on SoapNet the episode where David was being stank with Donna because he was worried about his well overdue rent (unbeknownst to her), and then had the nerve to sign some checks in her name to cover the rent. Ooooh, I wanted to jump him, lol. He could be very moody at times. The minute he climbed the social ladder a bit and grew out of his initial geekdom, his attitude turned cocky. Granted, he also had his moments of knighthood, but overall as a boyfriend he could be a real downer when things weren't all about him. That said, I particularly liked his pairing with Valerie, but preferred his friendship with Donna over their romantic pairing. Valerie at least could give as much as she got.

I dont know what you people are talking about David is always cool. He always tried to make Donna happy and every time he tried to make her happy Donna always putting all her problems ahead of her relationship with David. Donna needs a reality check because she is always procrastinating about telling people bad news because she always acts like a little girl that can not handle anything. David begged her for weeks to tell her parents about them living together and her having sex with him. But Donna can not be bothered with being an adult because she is always trying to seek everyone's approval instead of being who she is. David just got frustrated with her scared timid nature and told her like it is and David should be praised for that. As for Valerie her constant insecurities, schemes, and hatred for Kelly stopped her from having a long lasting relatinship with David. Between these two self involved insecure women it so wonder David was so angry with them all the time.

I agree, but Ray was much worse. I wanted to beat the holy hell out of that punk every time I saw him on the screen.

Another example of David being a jerk:

Donna & David are busy with work & school. David finally has some free time and shows up at Donna's job, expecting her to drop everything. He is pissy because although the two of them never made plans Donna isn't willing to give up other responsibilities for him.

He does this a lot with her. I had memories of the David & Donna being a great together but as I see the episodes again it was nothing but an emotionally abusive relationship.

Hello psycho that was when he had that mental disorder his mother has and he did not know how to control hisself so he use to do things at the drop of a dime and could not explain his actions. Are you going to seriously fault the man for a mental disability.

Yes, aside from Donna and David I think David and Valerie were definitely forever material. Most of the time I liked the best friend vibe between David and Donna more than their romantic relationship, but I always felt the close friendship and passion between David and Valerie.

Weren't Brian and Tiffani romantically involved in real-life during the show, as well?

To be fair, David was usually harsh and abrasive when something was going on in his life. The drug addiction, the mental problems, the money problems. I have watched this show many times over (still watching now every day at 5:00 and 6:00) and I have to say that as good as he was to Donna, she essentially gave up on him after the ‘check incident’ because she felt like he wasn’t being honest with her - even after he told her the truth. They had been through so much and she just dissed him for the new kid on the block.
That is the one thing that I didn’t like about Donna. Noah was severely more damaged than David and she forgave him everything.
Remember how she preached to David about telling the truth? Noah lied constantly, and she always forgave him and all they did was argue then he'd take her to bed.
I remember distinctly that David was drowning in debt, HoeNoah was sniffing around his girlfriend and his pride kept him from asking for help.
At the time it was storyline dictated so they could make know it all Noah part of the group.
All that being said, I liked David and Donna together and I was more than happy when she finally ditched Noah and went back to him.
David was a really good friend to Val. I never thought they would last because she was always scheming, even when she had it good, it wasn’t good enough.

Yes I will. Once he knew he had a problem he should have stayed on meds. Someone can have a mental disorder and still be a jerk. Being bipolar doesn't give you the right to treat someone like crap.

Wow, a few days ago I watched a Soapnet rerun episose of 90210 when Valerie asked David if he could sleep with her former best friend Ginger to end Ginger's blackmail. I don't know if I forgot about this episode or never saw it, but wow, I cannot believe Valerie's audacity. That was low, even for her. I still think Val and David had great chemistry, and I am shocked at how their relationship ended. I guess that was the inevitable steamrolling for a soap couple that was not meant to last, since Donna and David were a "meant to be" couple on 90210.
