Wow I must have been living under a rock! I have soapnet and I've just discovered this show. It's completely awesome. I've already purchased seasons 1-3 on dvd I'm getting the fourth asap. Now I'm as sad as all of you are now that it's gone!%(

I think Fox could have saved the show if they had kept it on Wednesday after American Idol. Moving it to Thursday opposite Grey's Anatomy was a big mistake. At least it can still be seen on Soapnet!:)

^^ So true. Air ANY show against CSI and Grey's Anatomy and you're bound to pay for it. Especially, a show whose best ratings were in a season finale, with around 10 million, and GA/CSI are both about double that on a regular day. It really was a great show though. I miss it so much!

I had never seen the show until Soapnet began airing it. I never gave the show a chance b4, but I am most definitely a fan now!! I have seen every episode and loved the Series Finale, although I would have liked to see Ryan & Taylor marry as well. But all around they wrapped up the series nicely. I have to say I was shocked when they killed off Marissa, but her brooding, feel sorry me act was getting old. I agree. I thought Marissa was too much drama for Ryan. I only liked them during Season 1. Ryan needs a less complicated woman like Taylor :), if you can call her less complicated. :]

Haha, Taylor became less complicated towards the end of the show. I didn't like her at first, but by the time the show was ready to end, I thought she was good for Ryan, quirkiness and all! :]

I am sorry but I dont get when its stated that Marissa brought Ryan down? um. correct me if I am wrong But despite her flaws and her mistakes Ryan wanted to be with her anyways, no one force Ryan to be with Marissa he wanted to. He wanted her to be happy ( even if it was always limited . and sure Marissa made some questionable mistakes but lets not act like Ryan was mr perfect in the relationship either. and clearly Ryan must of wanted to be "brought down" since he pretty much was on and off again with her for 3 yrs.

That is what pissed me about how this show protrayed the relationship between Ryan and Marissa like it was completely all on Marissa because things didnt work out. Nope, thats not what happened, I am sorry their problems stem from the fact that when it came to issues, they had a hard time expressing themselves when it came to what happen with Trey it was a copout and I dont by it for a second


If Marissa dragged Ryan down so long, then how come they couldnt send her to greece with her dad, instead of dying on the side of the road in Ryan's arms huh?

Taylor is special. I had to get use to her after awhile. But Raylor was so cute.

I agree with you that Ryan did love Marissa and it did not work. I blame neither Ryan or Marissa for there breakup. If you look at most off the other pairings Marissa was an unusual type for Ryan. Ryan mostly like Brunettes (Sadie, Linsey (more redhead), Taylor, and Teresa. When Marissa died he could not let her go for a long time. Marissa even though she died will always have a special place in Ryan's heart:(. Put I went on and off liking Ryan and Marissa, but by the end I loved Ryan with Taylor, and they were kind of hinting at it in the third season with Ryan and Taylor eventually becoming a couple. :-7

i love Raylor! i hated Marissa and even more when she was with Ryan, she was really oblivious to all the guys that liked her and she just never listened to Ryan
I think the show got cancelled because of the forth season, not because Marissa was gone but because of the whole Summer/Che thing and then Che/Seth thing
Che really was terrible i hated all his screen time

We know RM could do drama veyr well but that wasnt fair to put all the drama just on them. RM didnt kill ewach other the writing killed Ryan and marissa.

The OC was AWESOME in its first season, I still loved it in the second season, but then it did go downhill a bit, but I still watched, because I always loved Seth and Summer. The series finale was so perfect. With Seth and Summer getting married and Ryan finding that kid on the streets. So rewarding.

I started watching at the tail end of Season 2, and stuck with it till the end. Still have not seen the supposedly legendary first two seasons. But I enjoyed the last two, but of course it was on the FOX network. :rolleyes: Have you noticed how quickly they love to cancel new shows or any show really? The O.C. should have been picked up by the CW, it would have fit in perfectly over there....but then again, shows like this can't run forever.

I watched almost every episode last summer and now am watching again this summer. I still enjoy it and can't believe it never won an emmy. It was hilarious and different than most "teen" shows. I loved that Sandy and Kirsten were happily married (with some downs). It was refreshing to see a good married couple. It was wrong what they did to Marissa, but this was an excuse as to why the show ended early. They did ruin it by scheduling.

I MISS IT!!! It's my favorite show!!! I miss Ryan and Taylor, they were my favorite couple. I am so angry and I don't understand why they cancelled it! I loved it and I own all 4 seasons of The OC and I watch them all the time.
I recently watched the 4th season again, and I realized how much I missed it. I still can't watch the finale without balling my eyes out. %(

The OC did had potential, but the writers was soo dumb to write all of the great episodes..........Marissa should have never died, should have been put in coma, until she woke up. Ryan could have started college and made new friends. Seth and Summer should have stayed on the east coast college.

I am utterly upset about this and am surprised that One Tree Hill surpassed this show. #-o

I got into The OC completely by accident while doing research on the death of the teen drama show roughly three years ago. (At the time, they were not sure if OTH would be renewed or not because of the creation of the CW.) I was already a mjor OTH fan, but I wanted to include stuff about The OC since it too was very popular and came out around the same time. I rented the first season and was completely blown away. The characters were really strong and the concept was very interesting.

I do agree that the first and second seasons were the best. I totally fell in love with Ryan and Summer became my favorite female. I always kind of thought they would be a good match.

I am a HUGE Ryan & Taylor fan (they soo ended up together in the end), but I can totally see where you're coming from with the whole Ryan and Summer thing.
Everytime they had a scene, just the two of them, they were adorable and they oozed chemistry.

Yea I miss this show like crazy. I catch the reruns from time to time, but still miss a show. :( I wish they would put it back on.
