Brian Frons, the new Soapnet chief said, in the latest TVGuide, that there will be a NS 2. He said the stories on NS & GH didn't mesh and will be changed. Also, the writing and production staff was overworked and he will have different writing teams and production for NS. Nothing was said about the cast, who will be used, etc.

Since he is now head of Soapnet, is he still involved with GH and the other ABC soaps? He's planning other spinoffs like NS for other soaps, mentioning OLTL and Y&R which is broadcast on soapnet even though it's not an ABC soap. I think soapnet is owned by ABC.

The DVD of NS will be out in February. Will you buy it? How do you feel about NS? Were you disappointed or was it what you expected? Are you happy with the characters that moved over to GH or should they have been left behind when the story ended?

I felt as though the crossover was a miss. I enjoy the new characters on GH, however little time they are showcased . We were told that there would be no crossover, and that GH and NS were two seperate shows alltogether, and then NS ended on Thursday, cut to Friday and everything has just lapped over. I think it was a waste because why do it, if the characters wont be used. I was also under the assumption that the show would focus on the doctors, but there was just entirely too much of the Jason element for me. I enjoyed the doctors on the show, I enjoyed the envelopes that were pushed, but it all seemed a bit rushed to me as if no time and effort were put into it, and so many questions go unanswered.

No! I liked Ephiff and Billy Dee and that was it. I hate that we had to get stuck w/ all the other newbies after NS ended.

I liked NS a lot. Their cross-over didn't work. The show was fast-paced and focused on the hospital. There was more of a show case of under-used characters like Lainey, Cody, Kelly, Epiphany. They could have left out Jason & Spin as they get enough time on GH. I'm excited to see what happens next year.:)

I was disappointed that the main focus wasn't on Robin & Patrick as all the big promos had their pictures prominently displayed. Jason wasn't needed in the s/l.

I was surprised at the good s/l given Lainey, who was marvelous and she is so underused on GH. So are Robin & Patrick. It's now Thursday and they haven't been on all week.

This has been a problem for so many years on GH. As viewers we beg for more equal time for the characters, but it doesn't happen. Notice Carly's been away? They finally gave us a break.

I liked NS, but the crossover was bad. Especially when some people didn't watch NS.

Yes, I liked Night Shift.
Yes, I liked the crossover & the newbies.
Yes, I'm buying the DVD.
Yes, I'm looking forward to NS 2.
I LOVED when NS ended on Thurs & all the NS characters flooded Fri's episode of GH...a nice treat for us NS loyalists & I LOVED the way it pissed the non-NS watchers off...their bewildered comments were HILARIOUS!

I really liked Night Shift:clap: but I agree the cross over didn't work well and left GH only watchers lost as a goose.

They could have and should have done a much better job integrating the two shows.#-o

As for NS2.....Bring it on.:D

Loved it, too. Am so glad to see it will be returning.

Yeah, I liked the crossover but admit it could have been done a little better/smoother. Some things crossed over right away (Robin and baby issues), some a little later (Kelly's addiction, Lainey/Cody/Lainey's dad), and some not at all (Maxie's heart infection -- though I thought I heard that was still coming up).

I'm sure they've learned things from this first attempt and the second one will be better.

I wanted to like Night Shift. I really really wanted to like it-- I love Patrick and Robin. I liked some of the shows of Night Shift but my favorite parts did not cross over like Maxie's heart infection. I enjoyed Lainey's storyline.

I don't think I will buy NS but I did purchased some shows through I-tunes.

I hope there is a season 2 for KMC and JT sake and other hospital staff--funny how a show called General Hospital needs a spin off to focus on the hospital staff.

I hope Jason/Spin are not a part of the 2nd season see them too much on GH.

Night Shift will work if it's tied in more with the current GH s/l. If it's the same as NS 1, I won't watch.

I didn't like some of the turns that the story took on Night Shift, but I liked that there was alot of diversity among the characters. I liked the hospital focus. While I didn't love all the newbies I liked that they are gradually crossing over to GH. Will I watch it again? Yes, will I purchase the DVD, no because I recorded all of the episodes so I won't spend the money.

Do I trust Frons' NO, but I'd hope he learned something from this first show.

I will certainly watch if there is another season. Is this supposed to come in July again? There were things I didn't like about it. As like GH, I thought there were some consistency problems, and thought some shows were better than others. I know some people had problems with Jason and Spinelli being on all the time, but it didn't bother me that much. Being a Robin fan, I loved that she was the focus, since she doesn't get enough airtime on GH IMO. I also loved the general interaction on the show. Real people having real conversations has never been boring to me. I have all the episodes recorded, so I don't need to buy any. I might anyway though, just to support it.

I wish that there would have been more continuity between the two shows. I really appreciated NS for its ethnic diversity. Yes I will watch a second season 2 if there is ons. It would be interesting to possibly seeing spinoffs of other shows. Thanks for the info!

I went in watching with an open mind. I HATED IT! I liked Piff and Billy d. That is IT! I didn't like anything else. The influx of the newbies of NS to GH is horrible. I don't like Layalot.

LOL! I could'nt agree more! I hate Layalot also. I loved that there was so much diversity on Nightshift and hated when it ended on GH.

I loved the Night Shift. During the months of July and August, I liked it better than GH. I was glad that they brought over some of the characters to GH, but I hope that next season TPTB do a better job of making sure that whatever happens on The Night Shift meshes with what is actually happening on GH.

the way that they started as two seperate shows, then ended up as one was confusing. in the real show at the time, jason was in jail. in NS he is workign as a janitor. the stories didn't mesh, then they did. they should have just made them mesh from the beginning, or done it with totally different charcters.

Cant figure out though what would be the OLTL equivalent. Llanview Vice...night time goings on at LPD central booking???? Or behind the scenes at BE?

I am definitely looking forward to season 2, and I am considering buying season 1, but I'm not sure yet.

I hope season 2 doesn't overwork so many people and if they are a main focus on the show they won't be on NS or at least not on so much that the actors take the strain (Liason, Spin, even Scrubs should be on less if they keep them up on both shows, the actors should be on, and honestly they should be the focus, but that honestly isn't fair to the actors, so do both shows, but not the big focus on NS, and make sure their storyline meshes and no big plot points necessarily develop on NS so regular GH viewers can keep up).

I love that we can get storylines for characters who never get them-Lainey, Kelly, etc. It's nice to see more of these GH characters who aren't even in backburner stories on GH, just there and recurring for the most part. I like to get to know these extra characters. Now, if only I could get another spin-off where I could get to know Cruz, Harper, Max, Milo, Diane, etc. more, that would be awesome. I like my reccuring characters to have personality. At least Diane has more coming out about her with Alexis and the because she interacts in the Sason crowd. The doctors and nurses get nothing without this, so I definitely want another season. I don't want these characters dropped and forgotten about and just in the background. Andy made it to the screen last week, though, with Nikolas in the OR. First time I've seen him in months. That was nice, finally.

I did like night shift but they could have used more on GH characters not all those damn newbies. There was something that was missing and I can't quite put my finger on it. I'll still watching NS2.
